CASA GRANDE — Waste Management opened a new $19 million hauling and transfer station at a ceremony on Thursday. The Jefferson Avenue station is on 21 acres in the city’s west-side industrial area and will provide 30 new jobs.
WM Director of Collection Operations Chad Bowden told PinalCentral that he was delighted to see the new facility launched and expects to see some 350 tons of waste per day and 90,000 tons processed annually at the center to service Casa Grande, Eloy and Maricopa. Bowden added that the Casa Grande facility was built from the ground up, which he described as a “rarity,” instead of renovating and expanding an older site.
“WM is super excited to have this facility open and be more of a presence in the community with Casa Grande, Eloy, Maricopa and surrounding areas. We’re really excited to be here,” he said.
