ARIZONA STATE LAND DEPARTMENT

The Peoria Innovation Core will see its first big land auction next month for a parcel to be bought under the city’s agreement with the Arizona State Land Department, allowing Peoria to lead the planning effort in that area of the city.
The ASLD auction, which is open to the public, is planned Aug. 27 for 835 acres — a parcel roughly the size of Central Park in New York City — on a prime spot along the north side of Loop 303 at Lake Pleasant Parkway, within the innovation core.
The parcel could play a part in the microchip supply chain growing out of the nearby Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. fab, and could be used in a number of ways ranging from employment and business parks, to commercial, mixed-use village centers, as well as parks and open space.
