New AZ energy storage facility powers up

A 1,200 megawatt-hour energy storage facility in Maricopa County is now dispatching energy to the grid.

The facility, Papago Storage, is a Recurrent Energy LLC project now providing energy to Arizona Public Service, the state’s largest electric utility. It began commercial operation on July 7.
