Public meetings set on north-south freeway

State highway officials are gathering public comments as they begin an engineering and environmental study on the southern segment of the future north-south freeway between Florence and Eloy.

The Arizona Department of Transportation’s outreach includes two in-person public meetings and a virtual meeting. The first will be held 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at Florence High School, 1000 S. Main St. in Florence. A second is set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Santa Cruz Valley Union High School auditorium, 900 N. Main St. in Eloy. A presentation begins at 6 p.m. both evenings.
