Phoenix, which is already one of the top tourist destinations in the United States, is seeing its number of new hotel rooms under construction grow, the opposite of what is happening in the rest of the country.
Across the United States, the number of new hotel rooms under construction was down in June compared to the same month a year ago, according to according to new CoStar data. In fact, construction decreased year over year for a sixth consecutive month in June. But in Phoenix the number has grown significantly.
