Chandler agrees to put off downtown plan

Chandler city staff wanted to withdraw its request to adopt the Downtown Region Area Plan,

By approving the consent agenda at its July 17 meeting, the Chandler City Council agreed.

A staff report says the finished plan will establish future land uses, objective design standards, and related goals and policies.

It would also replace the current Downtown-South Arizona Corridor Area Plan “in totality.”

The report states staff wants more time to incorporate new material in laws approved by the Arizona legislature this spring.
