Tempe-based Amkor Technology Inc. will break ground at its brand-new factory location Sept. 2 after Peoria’s City Council hastily – and unanimously – approved a land swap and new development agreement..

Amkor’s $2 billion semiconductor chip testing and packaging facility will now relocate to that site.
