Forbes magazine has released its yearly list of the 400 richest people in America, and seven Arizonans made the cut — one of them ranking in the top 50.
The Grand Canyon State’s front-running billionaire was Ernest Garcia II, the largest shareholder of Tempe-based online car sales platform Carvana. He ranked No. 42 in the nation with wealth that clocks in at $23.1 billion, according to Forbes. That more than doubled the $11.4 billion in wealth recorded for his son, Ernest Garcia III, Carvana’s CEO, who was the second-highest Arizonan on the list at No. 105 overall.
