Buckeye eyes major airport upgrades

Buckeye Municipal Airport’s current traffic is classified as general aviation, or anything other than traditional commercial passenger flights. It is most often used by flight school students flying in or out of other nearby airports, like Goodyear’s Airpark or Luke Air Force Base, Mayor Eric Orsborn said. Activity at the airport has already picked up significantly in the past few years. In 2024, the airport saw 122,000 flights arriving or departing, compared to 95,000 the year prior, and 80,000 in 2022, according to data from the city.
