The Flagstaff City Council during a work session last Tuesday discussed how nine parcels of city-owned land could be used for housing in the future.
Sarah Darr, the city’s housing director, explained the history of using city-owned land for housing in Flagstaff and gave staff recommendations for what to do with some land currently owned by the city to facilitate its future use in meeting Flagstaff’s housing needs.
Staff recommended holding onto four parcels while waiting for further work or opportunities, soliciting requests for specific use of two others and moving through a redevelopment process for the city’s public housing sites designed to add more units as well as update the existing ones.
