Tens of millions of dollars have been funneled into resort renovations in Paradise Valley and Scottsdale during the past year, ranging from complete overhauls to the newest in spa trends.
Experts say that’s a good thing because it means tourism is strong in the luxury market. And the region’s tourism industry is doing well right now, particularly when it comes to high-end resorts, said Stephanie Pressler, a spokesperson for Experience Scottsdale, the private nonprofit marketing group that works with Paradise Valley and Scottsdale to attract visitors.
“When the tourism industry is strong, we often see new hotel supply look to enter the market, as well as major renovations at our current properties. That’s exactly what’s happening right now in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley,” Pressler said. “Ownership groups see value in this market and want to continue to invest so that they keep drawing in travelers and offering the best visitor experience.”
