Teravalis breaks ground on ‘anchor’ for first village

By AZ Business Magazine

Teravalis™, a Howard Hughes Community, broke ground Friday on Echo Community Center, a 22,000-square-foot recreational and wellness hub that will anchor the community’s first village, Floreo. Local officials, community leaders, development partners, and stakeholders gathered for the ceremonial groundbreaking for the center, which is set to open in early 2027.

Echo Community Center will serve as Floreo’s social gathering place. The name “Echo” symbolizes experiences that reverberate throughout a space, creating continuity and connectivity.

“Echo represents more than a place, it embodies the lasting impact we want this community to have,” said Charley Freericks, President of the Arizona Region for Howard Hughes Communities. “Its energy, activity, and experiences will resonate across Teravalis, fostering connections that strengthen our neighborhoods and bring people together for generations.”
