Amkor breaks ground

By KTAR

Amkor Technology has broken ground on a $7 billion advanced manufacturing campus in northern Peoria.

City officials gathered at the construction site just off Lake Pleasant Parkway, near Loop 303, on Monday.

Gov. Katie Hobbs believes the advanced manufacturing campus will put Arizona at the center of artificial intelligence (AI) development.

“This will be the largest outsourced packaging plant in North America, expected to bring 3,000 jobs here to Peoria,” she said at the event. “It will enable us to test and package more chips.”
