Going forward, the Coolidge Planning & Zoning Commission will no longer be reviewing or voting on site plans, preliminary plats and final plats, and both the commission and the City Council are not happy about it.
On March 31, Arizona House bill 2447 was passed which would require municipalities to amend zoning and subdivision codes to have administrative personnel review and approval on some matters without a public hearing. All municipalities would have to take on this new ordinance by Dec. 31 to be in compliance with State law.
Whereas before affected property owners could come and ask questions and demand insurances to developers, city staff and the P&Z commission, now property owners only recourse is to speak directly to Development Services.
