On Friday, the DOJ released thousands of documents linked to Epstein which featured photographs, flight logs and public court records, among other materials.
The release was due to a law that gave the DOJ a month to publicly post every unclassified document it had on Epstein, with Friday being 30 days since President Trump signed the law.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last week said the DOJ was not going to release the full Epstein files Friday as outlined in the new legislation. However, the department put out a partial batch of the files.
Additional files, documents and photos linked to Epstein were released by the DOJ on Saturday.
The disappearances
A minimum of 16 files on the DOJ’s webpage with files on Epstein were discovered to have left the department’s website by Saturday, according to the AP. One of those files was a photo that contained a picture with Trump in it, per the outlet.
The DOJ on Sunday said they had initially removed, but later restored, a photo from the files that contained a picture of Trump.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the Department of Justice temporarily removed the image for further review,” the DOJ posted on the social platform X. “After the review, it was determined there is no evidence that any Epstein victims are depicted in the photograph, and it has been reposted without any alteration or redaction.”
