The Flagstaff City Council approved a change to how middle housing is defined in the city’s zoning code at its most recent meeting, a response to state law intended to encourage development across Arizona.
Council approved the change unanimously and without discussion during its Dec. 2 meeting, following a public hearing at the Nov. 18 session.
Middle housing refers to properties that have between two and four units on one site, such as duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and townhomes. The units can be in one building or multiple.
