CASA GRANDE — Interstate 10 widening work in the Casa Grande area will start in mid-January, state Rep. Teresa Martinez told PinalCentral following a 150-minute briefing by officials of the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The work from Gas Line Road to south of Pinal Avenue will involved adding a lane in each direction within the existing median. A new interchange will be constructed at Seed Farm Road with the intent of improving access for the Gila River Indian Community. The Gas Line Road bridge will be widened and the Pinal Avenue/State Route 387 interchange will be reconstructed. The Dirk Lay Road bridge will be removed.
That construction is expected to last approximately two years at an estimated cost of $267.9 million.
