Retailer buys massive West Valley site

Discount clothing retailer Burlington scooped up a huge piece of land in the West Valley and could be the latest company to set up distribution operations there.

Burlington, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, acquired about 178 acres in Buckeye for $68,497,263 on Dec. 23, according to Tempe-based real estate database Vizzda LLC. It purchased the land from Garrett Development Corporation.
