PHOENIX — Arizonans may get the chance to reconsider whether they think it’s OK for every adult to purchase and use marijuana.
Sean Noble has filed paperwork to put the whole question of recreational marijuana on the 2026 ballot. He contends that the measure hasn’t lived up to its promise.
That promise, said Noble, is not that people who want the drug can’t get it. That has happened: There are more than 100 state-licensed outlet in Arizona, including some that deliver.
Tony Freeman, Rose Law Group partner and co-director of litigation says, “This effort to put Arizona’s recreational marijuana law back before voters in 2026 isn’t framed as a return to prohibition, but as a challenge to whether the regulatory promises made in 2020—particularly around youth marketing, advertising limits, and THC potency—have been fulfilled.
Worth watching as a potential bellwether for how Arizona voters respond to perceived gaps between ballot promises and real-world outcomes.”
