If an aspect of the massive VAI Resort opens in 2026, it will be when pumpkin-flavored drinks and food are everywhere — or when “Season’s Greetings” signs pop up across the Valley.
After years of additions, changes and timelines tossed by the wayside, the resort’s owners are taking a cautious approach to grand opening proclamations.
“We are not ready to provide a specific opening date this far in advance. When we open will be a function of how much of the resort will be operational while still delivering a guest experience worthy of both the VAI and Mattel brands,” Rian Kirkman, VAI’s SVP of marketing, stated in an email. “We anticipate making a specific date announcement approximately 9-12 months in advance of opening, with adventure park tickets, concert tickets and/or hotel rooms on sale a few months prior to opening.”
