MARICOPA — The state has taken the next step toward widening State Route 347 by opening negotiations with a major construction company to handle to project.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced Thursday that it had chosen Tempe-based Sundt Construction as the contractor for the 15-mile SR 347 project, which will include adding one lane in each direction between Interstate 10 and the city of Maricopa, which will help alleviate the major traffic headache for local residents.
