Help shape Tucson’s development code

By Real Estate Daily News

The City of Tucson Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) is preparing a Code Update Package to modernize the City’s development codes—making them clearer, more consistent, and easier to use. The Mayor and Council launched this effort on December 16, 2025.

The goal is to improve how the code works day to day by streamlining processes, reducing confusion, and increasing efficiency—while continuing to support high-quality development across Tucson.

Why this matters: development rules affect how quickly projects move from idea to construction, what gets built, and how well new growth fits existing neighborhoods. Clear, predictable codes help reduce delays and costs, support housing and job creation, and make it easier for residents to understand and weigh in on changes that shape Tucson’s future.
