CASA GRANDE — Land Advisors associate broker Kirk McCarville has told PinalCentral he is concerned about the impact a recent Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission decision will have on future local investment regarding silicone chip chemical manufacturers.
McCarville was alluding to KPPC Advanced Chemicals, which is part of Kanto Group. The company was seeking a conditional use permit to produce volatile materials within a General Industrial (I-2) zoning district.
However, the Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission on Jan. 8 turned down the request via a 4-3 vote.
The denial was based on concerns expressed by commissioners about the transportation of hazardous chemicals through major city arterial roads such as Pinal Avenue.
