PAC seeks to overturn CG land annexation

CASA GRANDE — A recent land annexation near the Lucid Motors plant unanimously approved by the City Council is being challenged.

The addition of 1,271 acres in what is known as “Project Saguaro” is between Selma Highway and Interstate 8, on the east and west sides of Thornton Road.

Los Angeles-based political action committee Arizonans for Responsible Development, which is sponsored by the union labor organization Worker Power, has lodged three applications with the City Clerk’s Office in an effort to put the matter on the ballot on Nov. 3, which would delay the annexation if enough signatures are gathered.
