The City of Phoenix and its partners celebrated the groundbreaking of The Moreland, a transformative 237-unit housing community that will bring much needed affordable and workforce housing to downtown. This milestone reflects another step in the City’s commitment to creating housing that is accessible, dignified, and designed for Phoenix families.
“With The Moreland, we are continuing our commitment to ensuring everyone in Phoenix has an affordable place to call home,” Mayor Kate Gallego said. “This project is not just another step; it’s a testament to our dedication to creating a community where families can thrive. Phoenix will continue to support developments like this to meet the needs of our residents and grow an inclusive downtown.”
“Housing is the bedrock of human stability and a better future,” Vice Mayor Kesha Hodge Washington said. “Projects like The Moreland show that when we invest in affordable housing, we honor our promise to ensure every resident has access to housing that is not only affordable but also dignified and rooted in opportunity.”
