Gov. Katie Hobbs says she’s spearheading a “sweeping transparency and ethics reform proposal” in the wake of pay-to-play allegations that have plagued her administration.
The proposal includes plans to create a searchable and publicly accessible database of state contractors, prohibit those contractors from making campaign contributions over $50 while bidding on a project, and prohibit lobbyists from giving any form of gift to public officials and state employees.
“I call on the Legislature to put aside partisanship and pass these reforms immediately so we can protect taxpayer dollars, improve transparency, and tackle corruption head-on,” Hobbs said in a statement.
