Karrin Taylor Robson drops out of race for Arizona governor

Karrin Taylor Robson has dropped her bid for Arizona governor almost exactly a year after she announced her run. 

The businesswoman and lobbyist with deep roots in the Grand Canyon State’s Republican Party earned the endorsement of President Donald Trump. But Trump complicated the situation by later endorsing U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs, Taylor Robson’s chief opponent in the bid to be the Republican nominee who challenges Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs in November. 

Taylor Robson wrote in a Thursday statement that Republicans could not afford a divisive primary “that drains resources and turns into months of intraparty attacks.”

After Trump had already endorsed Taylor Robson from a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix in December 2024, Biggs announced his candidacy. Trump then gave the four-term Congressman from Gilbert and longtime Trump ally an enthusiastic endorsement, while maintaining his support for Taylor Robson
