Projects starting to line up in downtown Peoria

With the recent opening of Caldwell County BBQ and the soon-to-open Jefferson House in downtown Peoria, the city has been lining up new projects to help revitalize the area.

Peoria Economic Development Director Maria Laughner said the downtown area is getting the residential activity needed to help spark more commercial in the area.

Greystar Development and Construction has established Caliber Industrial Park which offers 400,000 square feet of logistics space, and Marlow Peoria Place near Grand Avenue and Whitney Drive, which has 600 new homes.

Additionally, Overland Development built Peoria Gateway, which offers 200 homes at 85th and Grand avenues.
