Lawmakers introduced over 50 bills this session on energy and utility issues, but as crossover week comes to a close, most of them are not making it out alive.
Railbirds tell the Yellow Sheet Report that lawmakers are expressing more interest in energy, data centers, utility companies and the Arizona Corporation Commission than they ever have in previous sessions. But that doesn’t mean every idea will make it to Gov. Katie Hobbs’ desk.

Five of those six bills were sponsored by Democrats, with Republican Rep. Neal Carter sponsoring a sixth in response to his constituents’ concerns about data centers.
