By Pinal County

Happy Spring!

Hello all! It’s great to be with you and share the latest from District 3. Would you please do me a favor and share this email with others who might appreciate the insight and information in here?

Before we jump in, you can always reach out to me or our office with questions or concerns. All of our contact info is at the bottom.

ADAWS Signing

On March 4th, Governor Hobbs came to Casa Grande to sign a historic piece of legislation designating Arizona Water Company as a Designated Assured Water Supplier. This will allow Arizona Water to proceed forward issuing new 100-year water certificates. If you have been following along with my work, you know how long many of us have fought for this – advocating for Pinal County and the continued growth of our county and state with single-family homes.

This legislation was an incredibly long and hard-fought battle won by people willing to work across the political aisle, advocating for various different causes, all recognizing that “Failure is not an option.” I was proud and honored to speak at the event and appreciate the work of so many people who helped make this happen.

While the Governor and I do not always get along and sit on opposite sides of the aisle, I was thrilled to see the culmination of ten years hard work at this signing and look forward to securing more wins for Pinal County.

CAP

One of the organizations I’m proud to be a part of is the Central Arizona Project (CAP). CAP does so much but mainly serves as a water educational and advocacy group. As the sole representative from Pinal County, I learn from various members across the state at each of the CAP meetings and I wanted to share the educational piece of CAP with you. We award grants, educate the public, and serve as a clearinghouse for water policy and education. Please consider visiting their website and poking around if anything looks interesting to you.

Pinal Partners

It’s always fun joining the rest of the Board in a slightly less formal setting and the annual Pinal Partners breakfast with all the Board of Supervisors as panelists never disappoints. I’d like to think that everyone in the audience was there to hear me enlighten them on water policy but I suppose that’s not the most accurate statement I could make. Instead, I’ll end with Pinal Partners did an amazing job, as always, organizing this; Robson Ranch was exceptional in their hospitality and hosting as always; and it was really special to see so many people I consider friends in the audience.
