Soon, Eloy will be cruising on its airpark area plan after feedback from the community and local leaders over the past months.
On March 11, city council members and planning and zoning commissioners met in the City Hall community room for a work session to learn about and share their ideas on the new airpark area plan.
During this meeting, they heard about the visioning workshop on Feb. 11 and what the community thought.
For the vision statement, the community wanted to support Eloy’s identity as a recreation and aviation destination with tourism-oriented amenities like restaurants, hotels and entertainment. They wanted to see more local jobs and attract new businesses. They also wanted to preserve natural trails, open spaces and park facilities within and around the airpark area.
