Former NFL star gets backing of Trump and NRCC for Arizona’s CD1 race

Arizona congressional candidate and former NFL Kicker Jay Feely is getting national support from Republicans seeking to hold majorities in Congress.

The National Republican Congressional Committee announced Tuesday morning that it had added Feely to its initial list of nine candidates for the “2026 MAGA Majority.” President Donald Trump endorsed Feely in January for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District and, with his prior endorsement of Gina Swoboda, who is now running for secretary of state, Feely is the only candidate endorsed by the president in the race.

“Jay Feely has what it takes to go the distance and deliver a powerful election victory in November.
