Gilbert’s economic development strategy

Gilbert’s economic development team is leaning on redevelopment, tourism and business attraction as the primary drivers of revenue growth, with new data showing significant gains in jobs, investment and visitor spending during the past decade.

Town staff said those efforts are working to expand the tax base while supporting long-term growth.

“As economic developers, we utilize resources to overcome barriers and do so with sort of that strategic mindset to help businesses become successful,” Economic Development Director Dan Henderson said. “Those successful businesses then in turn create jobs, generate tax revenue and add to the social fabric of our community.”

Gilbert’s approach centers on three core areas: redevelopment, tourism and business development.
