More on Resolution Copper’s historic land exchange, from Pinal Partnership President & CEO Craig McFarland

(Disclosure: Rose Law Group represents Resolution Copper.)

Superior, AZ . . . Resolution Copper, a joint venture between Rio Tinto and BHP, and the United State Forest Service have completed the historic land exchange. This opens the way for phase one mining of the world’s largest copper deposit.

This was made possible following the U.S. Court of Appeals March 13th ruling in favor of Resolution Copper, the federal government and denying the plaintiff’s request to stop the exchange.

Resolution Copper also announced that over the next two years it will spend an additional $500 million for construction, funding support for Native American Tribes and local communities. The funds will also support existing infrastructure projects along with approximately 100 immediate new jobs.

“This is incredibly exciting news for Superior”, said Mayor Mila Besich. “After more than a decade of hard work and navigating a complex process, today’s decision brings real momentum – allowing the Resolution Copper project to move into full construction and helping keep our residents working close to home.”

This is huge for Pinal County, Arizona, and the United States. Resolution Copper has the potential to satisfy up to 25% of America’s copper demand. It is estimated that this project will add $1 billion a year to Arizona’s economy along with thousands of local jobs.

Amazing News . . . congratulations to Resolution Copper and the Town of Superior!!

Sincerely,

Craig H. McFarland
