The city Planning and Zoning Commission will hear a presentation by President and CEO of Pinal Partnership Craig McFarland when it meets on April 2.
Titled “Pinal Partnership: Energizing Pinal County’s Future — Opportunities, Challenges and Benefits of Energy Development,” the presentation will discuss rising energy demands in Pinal County, which are being driven by large manufacturers and industrial users and as well as residential development.
The meeting agenda notes there is an “urgent need for additional power resources, with solar, battery storage and natural gas identified as the most viable near-term technologies for Pinal County.” The discussion will also outline the public benefits of energy development via tax revenues, job creation and landowner income.
