The Peoria City Council held its annual budget study session, reviewing a proposed $1.185 billion fiscal year 2027 budget.
City officials described the budget as flat, sustainable and aligned with the council’s priorities of public safety, water security, economic development and innovative government.
The proposed budget represents a slight decrease from the prior year’s $1.192 billion and includes no increases to sales or property tax rates — a streak that now stretches back 20 years on the sales tax side.
