Florence town manager retiring

Town Manager Bruce Walls will retire effective August 1, 2026, closing a career of more than 40 years in public service spanning law enforcement, military service, and municipal administration.

Walls’ background includes 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he concluded his military service as a First Sergeant. He went on to a career in law enforcement at the Peoria Police Department, where he left in 2017 as Commander of the North Precinct. He then joined the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office as Assistant Chief of Investigations.

His professional background includes the FBI National Academy, the Northwestern Command School of Leadership, the ASU Certified Public Manager’s Course, and Leadership West, along with a bachelor’s degree in business management and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
