Local developers are seeking to acquire state-owned land to continue meeting the demand for housing before the supply of residential lots on the city’s east side is exhausted.
In August, the state will auction 340 acres of land in that area, and both Nieves Riedel and the Comité de Bien Estar (Committee for Community Well-Being) plan to bid on portions of the property.
Riedel recently warned that the inventory of available residential lots on San Luis’s east side is running out and that the city’s growth could stall if the state-owned land is not opened for development.
