Maricopa County Supervisor and Rose Law Group partner Thomas Galvin proposes prediction market safeguards

By Maricopa County

“It is important for local government to keep up with the speed of today’s world and trends to ensure we are keeping our residents safe and our County strong.

I am working with Chair Brophy McGee on a resolution for the Board to consider as an agenda item to prohibit County employees from using nonpublic information for potential profit in prediction markets. Maricopa County will be the first major county in the nation to implement this policy, if approved.

This is an important and timely topic to address, especially during election season. I am committed to ensuring all Maricopa County residents can have confidence in our employees, systems, and policies.”
