Surprise is preparing the final updates to its development code, and most of the discussion and negotiation with home builders and stakeholders has been about lot width and yard size for new projects.
While there are minor quibbles with the revised language in the proposed land development ordinance presented to the City Council at a Nov. 17 work session and the Nov. 19 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, those speaking on behalf of local developers sounded more amenable to the document.
Jackson Moll, Home Builders Association of Central Arizona vice president of municipal affairs, said Surprise has been an excellent collaborator and this draft is a improvement over previous iterations.
