Bill would change HOA approvals

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

A new bill at the Arizona Legislature would change the number of votes needed to make amendments to homeowners association declarations as well as design and architectural policies.

Current law requires a two-thirds vote for approval of HOA declarations and architectural and design views.

The new legislation — House Bill 2619 — would change that threshold to a simple majority.

The bill is sponsored by Arizona Reps. Jacqueline Parker and Kevin Payne, both Republicans.
