The Tempe City Council has approved a $150,000 economic development incentive as part of Align Technology’s plans to relocate its headquarters from Silicon Valley to the Watermark development.
Align makes 3D digital scanners and clear aligners used in orthodontics — most notably for Invisalign products.
Align has manufacturing plants in China, Israel and Mexico. It is currently based in San Jose.
The $150,000 Tempe incentive as well as a $500,000 incentive from the Arizona Commerce Authority are tied to Align’s plans to bring 150 jobs to the Valley over five years.
The Tempe City Council approved the $150,000 incentive deal at its Feb. 11 meeting.
