The Peoria City Council unanimously voted April 6 to approve a rezoning proposal that has been in discussion for a year and a half.
The proposal allowed 3 acres of land to be developed for a drive-thru restaurant, Kentucky Fried Chicken, at 75th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, just north of the Thunderbird Estates West.
“We spent a lot of time trying to figure out what was going to be right for the neighborhood and right for the neighbors and for the city as well,” said Dan Biswas, representative for the developer and applicant.
