After pausing construction last year because of the pandemic, W.L. Gore is ready to ease back into the expansion of its biomedical manufacturing campus near Interstate 17 and Loop 303 in north Phoenix.

The manufacturer occupies only 25 acres of the 46-acre campus at 32360 N. North Valley Parkway. In November 2019, the city approved the Newark, Delaware-based W.L. Gore to start on the third of three construction phases, but W.L. Gore halted construction after the coronavirus pandemic caused shutdowns months later.

The company, which has an office in Phoenix, now is splitting its final phase of construction into two phases. Immediately, it is only building a parking structure and solar panels that double as shade structures. It will save construction of the campus’s three final staff buildings until a future phase.
