Chandler looks at new $1M fence for airport

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The City of Chandler is looking to install a new $1 million fence to help keep wildlife out of areas at the Chandler Municipal Airport.

The council will consider accepting a $996,750 grant from the Arizona Department of Transportation to install a “wildlife exclusion fence” at the city owned airport.

The item is on the council’s May 24 agenda.

The new fence would replace an existing chain link fence to help keep coyotes, javelinas and other animals from entering the airport area.

If approved construction will start in 2021, according to city documents.

The city is looking at future development plans and land-use approaches for the Chandler Airport area.
