A vote on a proposed new building in Gilbert’s Heritage District has been delayed.
The Gilbert Town Council was slated to vote on the rezoning and development of an infill parcel at 226 North Gilbert Road. That council could have come as early as May 18. But the item has been removed from the council’s agenda and will be considered at a future date.
The council is being asked to rezone a small 0.365-acre parcel in the Heritage area and allow for development of a 68-foot tall, four-story building.
The current zoning for the property allows for a 55-foot building.
The Brundrett family – which owns Norwood Furniture adjacent to the site — wants to bring new restaurant and commercial space to the undeveloped parcel.
