Glendale could sell remaining golf course parcel

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Glendale is looking at what to do with a leftover parcel from its sale of the Glen Lakes Golf Course at Northern Avenue and 55th Avenue.

The city sold the former golf course for a new residential redevelopment.

There is remaining 1.48-acre parcel at

5450 West Northern Ave. that was not part of the sale.

The city still owns that parcel and City Councilman Bart Turner has asked city staff to present options on what to do with the remnant parcel.

The council will be briefed on those options at its June 8 meeting. The city could look at issuing a request for proposals or could hire a real estate brokerage to potentially sell the remaining parcel.

The land is zoned A-1 (agricultural use) but the council and city could look to rezone the property.

Council and staff will also discuss redevelopment options for the property at the June 8 meeting.
