[COMMENTARY] How to create a smarter city

I recently participated in a panel at the Milken Institute Global Conference about “creating smarter cities.” We discussed how cities have met our fiscal cliffs and how we’ve made government more efficient and more effective.

In Mesa, we have done that while building new and better parks, roads, light rail, colleges and universities and flying more than 1.5 million people a year around the world out of Gateway airport.

These developments will bring new jobs to Mesa and build a community in which residents can complete their education, find a great job and raise their families in safe neighborhoods.
