Wickenburg town manager resigning

By Scott Turner | Wickenburg Sun

Wickenburg Town Manager Vince Lorefice is stepping down from his position.

Lorefice said Sept. 17 will be his last day on the job.

“I gave a 60-day notice,” he told The Sun.

Lorefice has been with the Town of Wickenburg for eight and a half years, the first four as public works director.

“We did amazing work,” Lorefice said. “We accomplished some great things. When I took on the manager job, I saw it as the ability for me to take and lead a bigger team and even do better things. And frankly, we did that.

Despite what some say, we’ve accomplished amazing results. Our reserves, our savings account, our rainy-day fund, our contingencies are at all-time highs,” he added. “We’ve been paying cash for major items. We’ve been maintaining the town in better condition than it’s ever been maintained before. We’re investing more money into paving and preservation, which was a program I established as public works director.”
