Plans progress for Mesa infill project involving U.S. government parcel

Plans are moving forward for two new commercial buildings in Mesa in a project that involves an adjacent property owned by the U.S. government.

The Mesa Planning and Zoning Board approved plans for the Power Village project at its meeting on Aug. 25.

Power Village is a proposed infill commercial center with two retail buildings totaling 8,521 square feet. Previous submittals to the city also referred to the project at the Power Village Shoppes.

The development is nestled on a 1.6-acre vacant parcel near University Drive and Power Road in the East Valley.
Scottsdale-based ETR Enterprise LLC (Richard Rossmiller, Tuck Rossmiller) is developing the commercial center and has asked for the land to be rezoned to allow for the density of the infill project.

The Mesa planning board approved that request. The development also involves an adjacent parcel owned by the U.S. government through the Bureau of Land Management.

The development group is working with the city on access and landscaping for the BLM property adjacent to the proposed center. The city’s approval process progresses to the city council.
